      Southern University's Dancing Dolls had an experience of a lifetime — and they can thank YouTube for it. The dance team performed in Sunday's halftime show at Super Bowl XLVI with pop music icon Madonna. Local media reports stated Madonna discovered the young women after watching a video of one of their performances on the popular website.

      The Southern University Men's Federation and the Union Activities Board sponsored a Super Bowl XLVI Bash Sunday in the Smith-Brown Memorial Student Union.​ Students slowly migrated to the Union by the end of the first quarter students filling most of the seats that was placed out.

  • 'Love is Love' sparks debate

      The Student Government Association and the sophomore class hosted a forum Monday night in the Smith-Brown Memorial Union, in the Royal Cotillion Ballroom, to give students a rounded insight on gay marriage.​ Over 40 students were in attendance stating their opinions to poll questions that were asked from a list of questions that the SGA Board collaboratively decided to pose.

      During the commercial breaks of last year's Bayou Classic, the sponsor screens displayed a black screen over and over again with the words Red Tails glowing in red. The font of the letters made it look like a horror movie promo, but it wasn't until I saw the trailer during half time that I finally said "I gotta see it.
